We have been speaking at several IMSA, TEAM, ITE etc. conferences, and County, City, State DOT’s, and consulting with AASHTO members and representatives about this program. It is our understanding that care should be taken to not mix tested mounting equipment with untested mounting equipment (may not apply to the devices attached to it). Our equipment has been AASHTO MASH tested - bases, pipes 4’ to 15’ length Schedule 40 and Schedule 80, caps, cable tether (Drawing attached) to provide a complete approved FHWA pedestal and signal mounting pole eligible for the Federal-Aid. AASHTO MASH Test reports and FHWA letters are available upon request to DOT offices.

Signal Mounting

35E Elevator Plumbizer

The 35E plumbizer is designed for signal mounting mid-mast arm, end of mast arm or on the pole. It uses a ball and socket mounting point for easy leveling adjustment to ensure your signals are plumb and level. Mounting the signal heads is easy with just a washer and locking nut. The plumbizer is bolted tightly and does not use set screws for adjustment making it almost maintenance free. Pedestrian signals can also be mounted to the 35E which will allow the traffic signals and pedestrian heads to be aligned with each other on the pole while maintaining the ability to aim the signals in the appropriate directions. Also see 11PC Pedestrian Cap (Dwg. 9.1.0).

45V Angle Mount Plumbizer

The 45V plumbizer is designed for signal mounting end of mast arm or on the pole. It uses the same ball and socket mounting as the 35E for easy leveling adjustment to ensure your signals are plumb and level. Mounting the signal heads is easy with just a washer and locking nut. The plumbizer is bolted tightly and does not use set screws for adjustment making it almost maintenance free. Pedestrian signals can also be mounted to the 45V which will allow the traffic signals and pedestrian heads to be aligned with each other on the pole while maintaining the ability to aim the signals in the appropriate directions

15PC Pedestrian Cap

The 15PC is used on the 35E and 45V for capping off the top side of the plumbizer when mounting a pedestrian signal to the bottom side. The sap is designed to bottom out on the threads before damaging the teeth on the plumbizer so it can be used for a different application in the future.

35EA Open End Elevator Plumizer

We have developed the 35EA Open End Elevator Plumbizer for use with the McCain programmable, and other manufacturer’s signals. The 2” hole in the mounting point provides the proper room for wiring and mounting bolts that are required to mount this signal to the plumbizer. As with the 35E, this plumbizer provides the same ball and socket mounting to the flange on your pole or mast arm. This plumbizer also mount to our adapters. Various accessories are also available for this plumbizer such as the Sealed Cap and LPK mounting kit for regular signals.

32B Two-way Plumbizer

The 32B plumbizer is designed for mounting two signals on the same mounting point. It can be mounted mid-mast arm, end of mast arm or on the pole. It uses tapered washers for a leveling adjustment to ensure your signals are plumb and level. The plumbizer is bolted tightly and does not use set screws for adjustment making it maintenance free. Pedestrian signals can also be mounted to the 32B which will allow the traffic signals and pedestrian heads to be aligned with each other on the pole while maintaining the ability to aim the signals in the appropriate directions.

Mast Arm Extension - Clamp or Strap on (For Signal Extention)

The mast arm extension is a great money saver. This piece of equipment is used for extending your signal out from the end of your mast arm up to 5 feet. For instance if you add a turn lane to your intersection and a new mast arm is not in the budget, the signal can still be lined up with the lane by extending out 5 feet.

Mast Arm Damper

The damper mount is a device used for dampening the harmonics of a mast arm caused by wind. It is intended for use on longer mast arms to reduce or eliminate harmonic bouncing caused by the wind, but it can also be used to steady shorter mast arms that have cameras or other sensitive equipment. The federal government is requiring that harmonics on mast arms 55 feet and longer must be addressed. Our damper mount complies with this requirement. Instructions for installing our mast arm damper are supplied with every order and must be followed for proper placement to allow proper airflow.

Adapters

45B Threaded Hub

The 45B is for adapting a plumbizer to a mast arm pole by using an 1 1/2 “ nipple threaded into the pole. It make for a very clean look on the mast arm pole without the use of pipes holding signals. When using the 52CA cluster adapter the 45B Extended must be used to allow enough clearance for rotational adjustment. The 45B Extended uses a 3” nipple for the extra clearance.
